We at the Chamber are here to market the City of Hallettsville, to improve the Economic Development and promote Tourism.  We are here wherever needed, whether it’s the City of Hallettsville, Sacred Heart School, Hallettsville High School, the KC's Wildlife Dinner, the Lavaca Medical Center or whoever may call.

That brings me to the things that the Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture does during the year to help the community.

Also, the next pageant date is January 30, 2008.

Our Chamber Banquet is at the end of January, this is when we honor our Citizen of the Year, and we honor our Hospitality Winner. We have a special event in which we give away prizes such as a hunting trip or gift baskets from Dillard’s.  At this time our outgoing Directors are honored and our Incoming Director's are welcomed.

The Chamber Sponsors the State Championship 42 Domino Tournament the first Saturday in March.  This year's Tournament was a great success with teams warming up on Friday and a record number of teams participating from as far away as California. While we are sponsoring these events we are conducting day tours of our area churches, the courthouse, museum, etc.  We have 3 different tour packages to choose from.  The tour program has been a great success.  With this Day Tour Program we are bringing monies into Hallettsville that otherwise might not be here.

We send out packets to people who have called and may be interested in moving to Hallettsville.

The Chamber sponsors the Arts & Crafts Booths at the State Championship Fiddler's Frolics.  By the way if you have not been out to the Knights of Columbus Hall you should ride out there and see all of the improvements that they have made.  You know these improvements benefit all of us.

Now on to our major project of the year The Kolache Fest.  We are very proud to say that we are in our tenth year and growing every year.  The Kolache Fest benefits the community by bringing over 5,000 people to Hallettsville for the one-day event. Our area organizations participate in this event and this is for some of them, their major fundraisers for the year.  We encourage organizations and members to be a part of the Kolache Fest.  Of course the Kolache Fest would not be the success that it is without the great volunteers that we have.  The Kolache Fest outgrew the City Park and moved to the Knights of Columbus Hall several years ago and we are expanding around the KC Hall more & more every year.  We welcome anyone to be a part of our Kolache Fest or any event we sponsor during the year.

In November we sponsor Santa & Mrs. Claus at the Festival of Lights Ceremony.  We hand out the candy bags and the soda water that is donated by Better Beverages.  We added a Market Days to the Festival of Lights in which is growing every year.  It is very rewarding to see the children so excited about Santa & Mrs. Claus.

The Chamber is also involved in other events during the year that are sponsored by other organizations.  When called upon, we are there to help.

This is a brief summary of what the Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture does.  We are here to promote Hallettsville, the City of Hospitality.  If you have any questions feel free to call or email us.
